The New Price is Right

Museum Magazine, Issue 8

In September of 1972, American gameshow The Price is Right debuted a revamped format, with Bob Barker as host. This first episode saw squealing contestant Connie – who wore a polka dot dress, her hair fashioned into a suburban bouffant – take home a Harry Brown fur coat (she guessed it was $350, the retail price was $595), and later, a blue Chevrolet, complete with AM radio.
